Why Minisport Singapore Is Moving to Two-Week Sport Rotations (And What It Means for Your Child)

From next term, Minisport Singapore is moving to two-week sport rotations, giving your child more time to practise, build confidence, and make real progress in every sport.

Big news for Minisport families: from next term, we're switching from one-week sport rotations to two-week rotations here in Singapore. It's a change we're really excited about — and one we think you and your little ones will love.
Here's everything you need to know.

What's Changing?

Up until now, your child has been introduced to a new sport each week. Starting next term, each sport will run across two weeks instead of one.

This follows the same model our Hong Kong programme has been using successfully for the past 18 months - and the results there have been fantastic.

Why Two Weeks? Because Learning Takes Time

If you've ever watched your child warm up to something slowly -taking a few tries before they really get into it - you already understand why we're making this shift.

Young children learn through repetition. They build confidence by returning to something familiar, trying again, and realising they can do it. A single week often isn't quite enough time for that process to happen, especially for younger or more cautious kids.

With a two-week rotation, every child gets:

  • A clearer learning journey. Week one introduces the key concepts and skills. Week two builds on that foundation with more practice, progression, and game-based learning.
  • More repetition with key skills. This is how young children learn best — through doing the same things again, in slightly different ways, until they click.
  • More time to settle in. Not every child jumps straight into a new activity. Two weeks gives them the breathing room to find their feet and start enjoying the sport on their own terms.
  • A real sense of achievement. When children recognise activities from the week before, they feel more capable, and that confidence carries over into everything they do.

It Also Helps When Life Gets in the Way

We know how it goes: a cold, a family holiday, a clashing appointment. With one-week rotations, missing a single class could mean your child missed an entire sport for that cycle.

Two-week rotations change that. If your child is away one week, they still have the following week to experience the same sport and stay on track. It creates a much more consistent learning journey across the whole term.

What Stays the Same

We want to be clear: this isn't a change to what we do — just how long your child spends on each sport before moving to the next.

Everything else you know and love about Minisport stays exactly as it is:

  • Your child will still experience a wide range of sports across the term through our multi-sport approach.
  • Our coaching standards, class structure, and focus on building confidence and character remain the same.
  • The energy, the encouragement, and the fun? Still very much there.

Questions?

If you're wondering how the new rotation will work for your child's specific class or age group, we're here to help. Just get in touch, our team is always happy to chat.

Thanks for being part of the Minisport family.
