Things to Do With Kids in Singapore: October to December 2026

he best family events in Singapore from October to December 2026, picked for under-6s: Halloween, Deepavali, fun runs, Christmas and the year-end school holidays.

The last 3 months of the year are the busiest on Singapore's family calendar. Halloween, Deepavali, the year-end school holidays and Christmas all land within about 8 weeks of each other, and most event guides are written for older kids or adults.

This guide is filtered for young children. We've picked events that work for toddlers and preschoolers, flagged the ones that get kids moving, and added practical notes on timing, crowds and heat.

Dates and details were correct at the time of writing (7 October 2026). Always check the organiser's website before you go, as programmes can change.

Key dates for Q4 2026

  • Saturday 31 October: Halloween
  • Sunday 8 November: Deepavali (Monday 9 November is a public holiday)
  • Saturday 21 November to Thursday 31 December: MOE year-end school holidays
  • Friday 25 December: Christmas Day
  • Thursday 31 December: New Year's Eve

Before you go: 4 tips for events with under-6s

  1. Go early. Most festivals are calmer in the first hour. For toddlers, a short visit at opening time beats a long one at peak hour.
  2. Plan around naps and dinner. Evening light-ups are beautiful, but a 7pm start can clash with bedtime. Pick 1 evening outing a week at most for younger children.
  3. Watch the heat. Outdoor daytime events are hottest from 11am to 4pm. Bring water, a hat and a shaded spot to rest.
  4. Have a rain plan. October and November usually bring afternoon and early-evening thunderstorms, and the northeast monsoon brings longer spells of rain from December. Keep an indoor option in mind for each outdoor plan.

For under-6s: Little India gets very crowded on weekend evenings. Go on a weekday soon after 7pm, use a baby carrier rather than a stroller, and take the MRT to Little India or Farrer Park.

Halloween for little ones

Halloween falls on a Saturday this year. Many of the big Halloween events are designed for teens and adults, so here are the gentler options suited to young children.

  • Trick or Thrills, Universal Studios Singapore (until 1 November): daytime Halloween décor, trick-or-treating and character meet-and-greets, included with regular park admission. Halloween Horror Nights runs on separate evenings and is not suitable for young children.
  • The Mischief Within, Curiosity Cove, Mandai (1 October to 1 November): daytime Halloween games from 10am to 5.30pm, included with Curiosity Cove admission. Trick-or-treat candy bags and crafts cost extra.
  • The Great Pumpkin Trail, Downtown East (weekends, 3 to 31 October): free stamp trail for kids aged 12 and under, with a costume competition and guided trick-or-treat sessions on 31 October (free, registration required, 20 families per session).
  • Anchorpoint Pumpkin Treat (17, 18, 24 and 25 October): free Halloween maze and mall trick-or-treating.
  • Neighbourhood trick-or-treating, 31 October: Woodgrove Estate has hosted a community Halloween for close to 20 years. It is unofficial, so check community groups for updates closer to the date.

For under-6s: Costumes are hot. Choose breathable fabrics, skip full face masks, and bring a change of clothes.

For under-6s: 4km is a long way for small legs. Bring the stroller and treat it as a family walk with stops, or skip the run and visit the Festival Zone only.

‍

Deepavali long weekend (7 to 9 November)

Deepavali falls on Sunday 8 November, and Monday 9 November is a public holiday. The Little India Festival Village closes on 8 November, so this weekend is the last chance to visit.

‍

School holidays start: Saturday 21 November

The MOE year-end school holidays run until Thursday 31 December. Many international schools break later, from mid-December, so expect attractions to be busiest in the last 2 weeks of December.

‍

December

Kids Dash at the Singapore International Marathon

‍Cost: $50 for the 600m (Standard Chartered cardholders get 10% off)

The Kids Dash is a race-day event designed for very young children. The 600m non-competitive category is open to children aged 0 to 9, with separate waves by age: 0 to 3 years at 10am, and 4 to 6 years at 10.30am. Children aged 6 and under must run with a parent or guardian, and strollers are allowed for the 0 to 3 wave. Every finisher gets a medal and a kids' tee.

Note: Registration closes on 31 October 2026 at 11.59pm, or earlier if it fills up. Check the official Kids Dash page for availability.

For under-6s: 600m is a very achievable distance for a 4 to 6 year old, and a first race medal is a big moment. If your child is nervous, practise a few short "races" at the park in the weeks before.

A large exhibition with 12 life-sized recreated film worlds. A good indoor option for rainy December days, best suited to children who already know the films.

‍

Rainy-day backups

If the weather turns, these indoor options run across the season:

  • Sesame Street Magical Art World, Marina Square (1 October to 31 December): interactive art zones for young children. Passes are free with a minimum spend at the mall ($20 on weekdays, $30 on weekends).
  • Flower Dome, Gardens by the Bay: the Sunflower Surprise display until 9 November, followed by the Christmas Train Show (2026 dates to be confirmed).
