Q.
Are your courses in English?
A.

Absolutely! We want to ensure that all participants can fully engage and benefit from our courses. Therefore, all of our sessions are conducted in English. Here's what you can expect:

1. English as the primary language: Our coaches and instructors are fluent in English and will conduct the sessions using clear and age-appopriate language. This approach allows for effective communication, clear instructions, and a seamless learning experience.

2. Support for non-native English speakers: We understand that some participants may have varying levels of English proficiency. Our coaches are skilled at creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels comfortable and supported. They will provide additional assistance, demonstrations, and encouragement to ensure that all participants can actively participate and enjoy the activities.

3. Language development opportunities: Participating in our courses can also be a wonderful opportunity for non-native English speakers to practice and enhance their language skills. Through engaging activities and interactions with coaches and peers, children can naturally develop their English language abilities while having fun and staying active.

If you have any concerns or questions regarding the language aspect of our courses, please feel free to reach out to our friendly support team. We are here to address any specific needs or provide further information to ensure a positive and enjoyable experience for your child.

Q.
Is uniform required?
A.

Public Classes
Uniform is mandatory for all public classes. Public classes refer to sessions that have been scheduled by Minisport (as opposed to private classes that are formed by parents for their own friends/ associates children).

Our uniforms are handled by a third party kit supplier, Integrity Sportswear & are priced at HK$320 for shirt and shorts, with a delivery fee of HK$40. Pricing with shipping is therefore $360.
The order form for uniforms is available in the confirmation email upon enrolment of public classes, as well as on our website & app- https://www.minisport.hk/order-kit
The store password is: minisport

Holiday Camps
Uniforms are not required at our holiday camps, although students are welcome to wear them.

Private Classes
Uniforms are not required at our private classes (classes arrange by groups of parents as opposed to Minisport), although students are welcome to wear them.

-----
Got old uniform?
Our new initiative with Phuket Sunshine Village Foundation allows parents to give back their old uniforms so that we can physically put them in the hands of children in need when we conduct our sessions for them during our charity outreach trips.

Public Class

Q.
How much do public classes cost?
A.

Public classes cost between $250-320 per session.

Why is the price per session higher at certain times/ locations?
Factors such as the agreement between third-party vendors, as well as the size of the venue, capacity & time/day of the week all impact our pricing. We are, however are committed to providing as much consistency as well as the best possible value at each and every session.

Q.
Do we get allocated the same coach for every class?
A.

We understand that having a familiar coach can contribute to a sense of comfort and connection for your child. While we cannot adapt our public class schedule to re-arrange coaches upon request, we do strive to provide a positive and consistent experience for all participants. Here's what you need to know:

1. Coach allocation: Our Minisport scheduling team is responsible for assigning coaches to sessions. They take into consideration various factors such as availability, expertise, and overall logistics to ensure a well-organised program for all participants and staff.

2. Consistent curriculum: Rest assured that all our coaches have completed our rigorous Minisport coaching program and are trained to deliver the same high-quality curriculum. Regardless of the coach leading the session, your child will receive a consistent and enriching sports experience.

3. Coach preference information: If you have a preference for a specific coach, you are easily able to search their classes using the dropdown filters on the app's search page. Note that, despite our best attempts at consistent coach allocation, this scheduling can be subject to change.

4. Coach rotation and annual leave: To attract and maintain the best possible coaching team, it is essential for our coaches to have regular breaks, including annual leave. This rotation of coaches allows us to ensure fresh perspectives, diverse training styles, and a healthy work-life balance for our dedicated team.

While we strive to maintain consistency, we believe in the collective expertise of our coaching staff and the enriching experience they provide as a team. We encourage your child to embrace the opportunity to interact with different coaches if necessary, as it can lead to new insights, varied teaching approaches, and a broader range of skills.

If you have any further questions or concerns about our coach allocation process, please don't hesitate to reach out to us. Our friendly support team is here to assist you and provide any additional information you may need.

Q.
How long does each session last?
A.

We offer various types of sessions with different durations to cater to your needs. Here's a breakdown of the session lengths:

1. Standard Public & Private Classes: Our standard classes are designed to provide a comprehensive learning experience for your child. These classes typically last for 50 minutes, allowing ample time for children to actively participate and engage in the activities.

2. One-on-One Public Classes: In cases where there is only one child attending the session at a public class (this can be as a result of low sign ups or other factors such as absences or trialists not showing up), we adjust the duration to ensure productivity and personalized attention. These one-on-one classes run for approximately 40 minutes, tailored to the specific needs of the child.

3. Standard Camp Sessions: If your child is attending one of our exciting camp programs, the session duration can vary between 50 to 180 minutes. This extended time allows for a more immersive and enriching experience, with a range of activities and opportunities for skill development, festively themed activities and peer engagement.

4. Birthday Parties: For those celebrating a special occasion with us, our birthday party sessions typically last for 60 minutes before 10 minutes of certificates. During these events, we provide a fun-filled program that includes games, activities, and celebrations to make the day memorable for the birthday child and their friends.

To join a session or inquire further about specific timings, please download our app for an optimal browisng experience.

Q.
How many kids are in each class?
A.

We believe in providing personalised attention and creating the best learning environment for every child at Minisport. Through our many years in the industry and continuous trial and error, we believe that the right balance for our classes is to be capped at 9 students per class.

We prioritise maintaining small class sizes to ensure that each child receives individualised attention and benefits from the expertise of our qualified and experienced coaches. By keeping the number of students low, we create an environment that allows for accelerated skill development, enhanced learning experiences, increased interaction and collaboration, and, most importantly, prioritizes the safety and well-being of each child.

It is also worth considering that there are often absences for various reasons at this age group, so the real maximum number of students per class tends to be 7 or 8. Our average class size across all sessions that we offer is in fact 5.2 children.

We aim to provide the highest quality coaching and create a supportive atmosphere where every child can thrive. If you have any further questions or concerns regarding our class sizes, please feel free to contact us. We're here to assist you in any way we can!

Q.
Do guardians need to be present during classes?
A.

We understand that the presence of guardians during classes is an important consideration. Here's a breakdown of our policy based on the different types of classes we offer:

Public Classes
For children aged 1.5-3.5 years,
guardians are required to participate and assist in the class. Your active involvement helps create a positive and engaging experience for your little ones and is mandatory.

For children aged 3.5-6 years, guardians are required to be present at the venue. This ensures the safety and well-being of the children while they participate in the class and allows for situations like unplanned toilet breaks to take place.

Private Classes
The guardian policy for private classes is determined on a case-by-case basis during the class formation period. Factors such as the nature of the venue and the age of the children influence this decision. Our team will work closely with you to determine the most suitable arrangement for your private class.

Holiday Camps
For the majority of holiday camps, guardians are required to stay at the venue if the children are under the age of 5 years old. This ensures their safety and provides additional support when needed. However, please note that there may be exceptions, particularly in school-based camps, where drp-ofis available. We will provide clear guidance regarding the guardian policy for each specific holiday camp via the camp page on the app.

Parties
During parties, it is required that children are in the presence of the organizing parent at all times. This ensures a safe and enjoyable experience for each and every child involved.

Events
For events, we require children to be in the presence of their guardians at all times. This policy ensures the safety and well-being of the children throughout the event.

At Minisport, we prioritize the safety and care of your children. Our policies regarding guardian presence aim to create a nurturing and secure environment for them to learn and have fun. If you have any further questions or concerns regarding our guardian policy, please feel free to reach out to us. We're here to assist you and provide the necessary support.

Q.
Can multiple guardians join one child for class?
A.

Here's an overview of our guardian policy based on the type of class:

1. Guardian Assisted Classes: (for 1.5-3.5yrs)
For certain classes, known as guardian-assisted sessions, we permit one guardian per child to actively participate within the class itself. This participation helps facilitate the child's engagement and completion of the session. We appreciate the valuable role guardians play in creating a positive and supportive environment for their little ones.

2. Guardian Accompanied Classes: (for children aged 3.5+ unless otherwise stated).
In guardian-accompanied sessions, multiple guardians are allowed to attend unless there are specific venue policies, such as certain partner schools, that restrict the number of guardians on the premises.

Details on such venue specific restrictions can be found in the foot of the upcoming class page on the minisport app.

Q.
The time slots/ locations offered in public class are not suitable for my schedule, what options do I have?
A.

Consider Private Classes.

We understand that finding the right time slot and location for your child's classes can be challenging. We want to ensure that our classes are accessible and convenient for all families. If the current public class schedule doesn't align with your schedule, we have an alternative option for you.

You can reach out to our dedicated Private Class team to inquire about the availability of private classes for your child. Private classes provide the flexibility to choose a time slot and location that works best for you. Our team will be more than happy to assist you in exploring this option.

To get started, simply click on the following link: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=85290135051. You will be connected with our Private Class team via WhatsApp. They will guide you through the process, answer any questions you may have, and discuss the available options based on your preferences.

At Minisport, we strive to accommodate the individual needs and schedules of our families. We want to ensure that your child can enjoy our classes at a time and location that suits you best. Don't hesitate to reach out to our Private Class team and take the next step towards creating a personalized class experience for your child.

Q.
Can I enroll for a few sessions instead of the whole term?
A.

All public weekly class enrolments can be made either on a full term or a drop-in basis.

Drop-In classes:
These can be booked within 72 hours of the session starting, and are charged at $80 more per session than if booked for a full term. For example, if a class costs $250 (therefore $2,500 for 10 sessions), the drop-in will be available (subject to availability), 72 hours before the class starts.

Note that all new app users qualify for $380 credit, which essentially grants them a free trial via the drop-in function.

If the class that you wish to drop-in to is not available, or outside the 72 hour window, you are able to stay informed with regards to class changes by clicking the bell icon on the class. If spaces become available/ when the drop in period opens, you will be notified.

Full Term Enrolments
Bookings for all non drop-in classes must be made on a pro-rata for the remainder of the term. For example, if there are 5 sessions left in a 12-week term at the point of enrolment, then all remaining 5 sessions must be enrolled to via the app.

Q.
What are reports?
A.

Reports are our way of providing parents with feedback to help them best understand where their child’s sporting passion lies.

You will receive reports after completion of every 8 sessions, whether that be through public classes, private classes or camps. Note that parties and events do not count towards completed sessions for reports. These reports contain data that has been recorded by our coaching team following each session, such as the interest levels, enjoyment levels, performance levels and ability to follow instructions along with the range of sports and skills covered in the session.

Detailed Reports
After every 24 sessions, the coach that has taught your child the most is prompted to provide a “detailed report” through which they provide a written outline of the child’s sporting journey with us within that timeframe.

For a full rundown of our reporting system, visit the link below:
https://www.minisport.hk/blog/understanding-the-minisport-reporting-system

Q.
Which age group/ level should my kid join?
A.

We're here to guide you in finding the perfect fit for your child's age and development stage.

We built our app so that you are only able to see the classes that suit your child’s age group. This has been done in order to maintain close age groups and ensure high quality, age-appropriate coaching at each session.

You are therefore able to see classes that your child is of the appropriate age for at the time of booking, as well as classes that they will turn the appropriate age for within 8 weeks. Therefore, for an 8 week period of the year you will see two age groups:  the age group that fits your child at that exact point of booking, as well as age group that your child will grow into in the coming 8 weeks.

If you have an issue with the age groups that you are able to view on the app, simply contact our team and we can discuss this / adjust the viewable classes for you.

Here are the recommended age groups and levels, and note that all students follow the same, 6 sport rotation program:

1. Playgroup: Designed for little ones aged 1.5 to 2.5 years, our Playgroup program focuses on nurturing early motor skills, coordination, and social interaction in a playful setting.

2. Mini-Tots: Tailored for children between 2.5 and 3.5 years old, our Mini-Tots program builds upon the foundation of motor skills while introducing more structured activities to enhance their physical abilities and confidence.

3. Level 1: Ideal for kids aged 3.5 to 4.5 years, Level 1 provides a supportive environment where children can further develop their fundamental sports skills, coordination, and teamwork through engaging games and activities.

4. Level 2: Designed for children aged 4.5 to 6 years, Level 2 focuses on advancing their sports skills, coordination, and teamwork abilities through age-appropriate challenges and activities.
To determine the most suitable age group for your child, consider their age and developmental milestones. However, please note that every child is unique, and our experienced coaches will also assess their abilities during the first sessions to ensure they are placed in the most appropriate group.

If you have any specific questions or require further guidance, our friendly support team is ready to assist you. Feel free to reach out to us on our whatsapp line for personalised advice based on your child's individual needs and interests: https://api.whatsapp.com/send?phone=85254096512

We can't wait to welcome your child to the Minisport family and provide them with a fun, nurturing, and skill-building experience that they'll cherish. Let's embark on this exciting journey together!

Yes, this is possible but not too common...

Public Classes
We have a handful of venues at which we send two coaches to run sessions side by side so that siblings have a chance to attend at the same time and venue, greatly easing the logistics on families with multiple students. Note however that there are only a select few instances where this occurs for our regular public classes and that often siblings need to attend back to back classes or even classes on different days of the week.
To browse these classes, visit https://www.minisport.hk/enrol

Holiday CampsI
It is worth nothing that our age brackets are often slightly wider for holiday camps and that it is common to find us running camps side by side, even with games together from time to time, for age groups as wide as 4-5 years. To browse these camps, download our app or visit https://www.minisport.hk/camps

Private Classes
If your children are close in age then we are willing to run private classes at your preferred choice of venue, subject to availability. For more information on the possibility of those classes being arrange for you, visit: https://www.minisport.hk/services/private-classes.

Events
Our events are a great opportunity for children of wide age ranges to be entertained at the same time alongside each other. For more information on these, visit : https://www.minisport.hk/services/events or sign up to our newsletter to stay updated: http://eepurl.com/iyx1d-/
